Hi all,

Not sure if anyone remembers me, as I think I hold the LHS record for most classes skipped. I wandered onto this page recently and saw that Mike Hundrup had passed. It's hard to believe that so many childhood friends are gone now! Hope you all are doing well, and maybe I'll catch you at the 50th.

Many members of the class of '68, including myself,  reside in the Puget Sound region of Wesern Washington.   Is there any interest in a regional class picnic/lunch/get-together prior to our 50 year class reunion?

I have attended every class reunion since the 20 year reunion in 1988.  At each reunion, I have met classmates who did not survive to the next one.

The continually growing list of names and photos on the In Memorium display graphically illustrates that we should not wait until the next official class reunion in Lewiston to reconnect with  our classmates.

Another classmate has been taken home.  Garry Ellis Sr. died October 7, 3013.  He lived in Vidor, Texas.  Garry was married and had 2 sons.  Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family and friends.  Many of you may remember his sister Diane and brother Larry.

I posted 29 photos in the album titled 2013 45th Class Reunion which can be found in the Photo Albums section of this website.  You should be able to download individual photos to your computer.  If you can't, or if you want a larger size photo, shoot me an e-mail describing the photo and I'll e-mail a copy back to you.

The class reunion website is running dangerously low on photo space, so I suggest that anyone who wants photos waste no time in downloading them. The website administrators will have to delete some photos before the next reunion.

I apologize for the quality (or lack thereof) of some of the photos.   The lens was fairly new to me and I do not take many indoor flash photos.  I  felt like a cross between a wedding photographer and a paparazzi as I don't like sticking my camera in peoples' faces while they are talking with friends.

Hopefully my photo techniques will improve for our 50 year reunion. The final shot in the album is of a double rainbow which appeared over town Sunday afternoon after most of you had left.  I think it is a good omen for our next reunion.

What a great reunion! Many thanks to the reunion committee for their great work for this and past reunions.

I just got home this afternoon, so I am a bit tired.  Give me a few days to process the many photos I took and I'll place them in the albums so you all can download them.

There was a double rainbow over Lewsiton Sunday night, which I'll intepret as a good omen for our 50 year reunion.

Hello all.  I will be there for the 45th.  But I have to tell you that I have done nothing to help with the organization of the reunion.  I have completely shirked my duties as "Class President".  But fortunately we do have other responsible people who deserve all of our gratitude.  Virginia, Barb, Marsha, Ila, and I'm sure many more.  I truly thank them for all their hard work.  And I am completely willing to field any complaints (and tell whoever complains where to get off). Looking forward to seeing you all.  Dennis

Hi everyone.  I can hardly wait.  I didn't make it to the last one and will only be able to attend Friday night this time.  Have to head back to McCall Saturday for a fundraiser that we have been working on for several years.  It finally came through.  I hope everyone goes Friday so I can see you.  I did not have this Website saved so have misse out on a lot.  Did not know so many of our class mates have passed away.  It makes me sad and again only makes me realize live every day to the fullest.  Rick C., I hope you are there.  I'll always remember my maccarroni necklace from grade school. :)
Send me some emails everyone.  tanya@maysecurity.com or tanyalmasterson@gmail.com.  I'd love to hear from you and thanks to everyone on the committee for putting in I'm sure the long hours on making the reunion a special one.

Hi everyone, I don't know if I will be able to come to the reunion or not.  I have a bunch of show committments.  I am a Glass Artist on Whidbey Island Washington.  Recently I wrote and illustrated a childeren's book about building a house, it is called "The Little House that Grew".  The Habitat for Humanity stores are starting sell it at their stores on the Island.  It is also on Amazon.com. You can check out my web site, www.jodybone.com. I run into Becky Duthie occationally as she also lives here. She delights in telling people that we have known each other since first grade! Hope that everyone has a great reunion.  Also I hope that they don't tear that great old building down. take care, Jody Bone

Hello Classmates!  I haven't been on the website in a long time and I apologize for not keeping up.  We have lost a couple more classmates.  I think of them all the time as it is very hard losing someone you know and love.  Mike Hundrup passed away on September 23, 2011.  Monta Richardson Vermillion passed away on November 2, 2012.  I lost my son, Todd Gay, in a tragic truck accident on November 18, 2011.  Grief last a life time.  It is certainly not a journey we would choose.  My heart goes out to all the families of our lost ones.

Save our School.  If you feel that our LHS building is worth saving send a letter to the editor in the Lewiston Tribune.  Our school district wants to replace it with a new building that will cost $73 million and property owners $1.39 per $1000 of property value. Homeowners have ways to reduce their property value before taxes, but businesses dont.  We believe that the old LHS buildings can be fixed for less than the new and save the taxpayers a huge bill for 20 years.  If you want to get involved, send me an email.  Out of towners are welcome too!

Without asking that someone type it all out, do we have an In Memorium list of the the classmates lost? If so, is it readily available? We had a board at earlier reunions which had names as best we knew.

I appreciate the posts here when we learn of others, and I am sure others do too. Of course such a list could be taken down if it starts resembling a "sole survivor" club.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hello Classmates!  A fellow classmate has passed away on June 17, 2010.  Kay (Rimel) Henson.  The paper said, "She passed away at her home in Boise, after losing her all too brief battle with pancreatic cancer."  I will always remember Kay as a friend who lived down the street from my house when we were in junior high and high school.  She always wore a wonderful smile!  Sad time for family and friends.  Let's keep healthy and safe!

Hello Classmates!
I hope some of you are still connecting to this website!  Seems like I am bearer of sad news lately.  It was in the paper today...Danny Morton passed away Sunday January 24, 2010.  For those of you who don't know, at the age of 30 Danny had an accident at a mill and suffered a traumatic head injury.  The obit said that Danny came to know the Lord Jesus as his savior at a young age and spoke often of the many blessings in his life.
Danny's online memorial guest book is at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.  A card will be sent from the class of 68.  Take care!

Dear Classmates,
Some sad news during this Christmas season.  Our fellow classmate, Dennis Herring passed away on December 15.  I was told he was shoveling snow in his yard and died of a heart attack.  A neighbor found him.  Such a sad time for the family.  Dennis retired from Lifetouch photography a few years ago.  The paper said"Dennis was a generous man who loved God, his family and especially his grandsons who were the light of his life--his neighbors and the great outdoors."  What a tribute.  A card was sent to his family from the Class of 1968.

Friends,

I have been reading the messages about the highly successful 40th LHS Reunion for Class of 68.  Like Carol (Isaac) Reineck, I had a prior commitment preventing my attendance, but I am anxious to attend the next reunion.  I am still in the Army at Fort Sam Houston, TX, at US Army Medical Command dealing with nuclear medical readiness and public health issues.  I am in my 30th year of service.  I will make room for the youngster and hang it up next year.   Obviously, none of us has the feeling of getting old!!   See you on the track and golf course.

Sorry to say I will have to miss the reunion this year.  I am in Florida and leave tomorrow to go to sea on a guided missile destroyer.  Never thought I would do this again but I have to evaluate a new system for DoD.
As an aside note.  I was in submarines.  The last time I spent time on a surface combatant was in 1971!  It looks like I will be going out on the two newest submarines this fall -- that I will enjoy.

Well, I had actually hoped to come back for the 40 year reunion but unfortunately I have an important engagement here in Austria on that weekend. Nevertheless I greet everyone there and hope that whoever is interested in contacting me will do so. I was in Lewiston last summer and enjoyed the Baseball, bike-riding, river and my Mother - of course! They say “ You can take the girl out of Idaho but you can’t take Idaho out of the girl ” That’s the way it is with me even though I have lived over here in Europe since ‘73. If anyone is planning a trip over here - contact me and I just might have time to show you Salzburg and / or other places which I know well. Here’s wishing you all a wonderful time! Sylvia

Thank you DJ for the fabulous web site.

I live in Seattle & Hawaii.  I married Chris Clark from the class of 67 in the year 2000 and we are having a great time.

I think of our time at LHS as the perfect high school in the perfect home town USA,  What a wonderful time of life.  1968 has been noted in history as a very important year.  Besides Brokaws book, there is a book "1968" that tells of all the significant events that happened all over the world that year.  We are a special group of people born at a very special time.

I'd love to hear from all of you.   Linda

I  read Tom Brokow's new book, "Boom! Voices of the Sixties." Brokow's opinion is that what we think of as "The Sixties" started with the assassination of JFK in 1963 and ended with Nixon's resignation in 1974. He calls 1968 the volcanic center of the 60's.  You may want to read the book as it is does bring back some memories.

There will be a program on the History Channel Sunday (12/09) titled "1968 with Tom Brokow"  (or something similar) which may also be worth watching.

Hi everybody!
Geez 40 years, amazing.
Wasn't sure I'd live to see the day and I guess I'd better be careful even saying that, since it's not here yet...
Looking forward to seeing how well we've all aged. LOL.
How come you always pick the week I plan on going camping?!

I've missed any prior reunions and events, but plan to attend this one.  I hope to see lots of classmates and find out what's been happening and where life has taken you.

Hey, I can tell already that it will be fun to hear from everyone as we move toward the big 40th. A good incentive to take my medication.  Ha!
